"Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear." — Isaiah 65:24
What confidence and assurance believers can walk in when we know the Word! God says that before we call, He has already answered. This means that when faith stirs in our hearts to bring a request before Him—one that aligns with His will—God has already answered. He knows our thoughts before we think them, our words before we speak them. Hallelujah! What a mighty God we serve.
While writing this devotional, my parents came to mind—especially concerns about my father’s health and their financial situation. I would love to have the means to care for all their needs and desires, just as they cared for me when I was a child. But in that moment, God reminded me of His words: "Seek first the kingdom of God and My righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." He gently impressed on my heart: I am faithful. I am the only one able to handle your concerns. I already know all about the situation.
It’s in those seasons when we don’t see change that we can grow discouraged. Our hearts feel heavy. We wonder if God really heard us, if we prayed correctly, or if He is waiting for us to do something to make things happen. But I believe it’s in the waiting that our faith is refined. If we surrender control to God, we grow into mature Christians.
Spiritual waiting is not passive—it is active faith, trusting that God’s timing is perfect and that He is working behind the scenes. His Word is truth, and it will never return empty. Hallelujah! Even in the waiting, He gives us confidence through His promises:
"And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him." — 1 John 5:14–15 (ESV)
When we know His will and pray according to His will, we can rest in His will—confident that our prayers have already been answered.
Key Takeaways:
Receive the answered prayer.
God sees and knows your heart.
Waiting is a testing season that grows your faith.
