Stand Assured

“Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident." — Psalm 27:3

In the passage above, King David makes a powerful declaration: nothing has power over him. He acknowledges that fear may try to approach, but it will not take hold of his heart. Fear would not rule him. When we begin to understand who God is in our lives, we too can make bold declarations like David. He knew that nothing could overturn what God had already ordained for his life. Therefore, he stood boldly in faith, knowing the Lord was the strength of his life.

Every believer can stand confidently in faith, knowing that the same God who delivered David and fought for him is the same God we serve today. Scripture reminds us, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). We are called to walk by faith and not by sight.

Today, it seems impossible to scroll through social media or watch the news without encountering stories of injustice, oppression, and hardship. It often appears that the most vulnerable—the oppressed—are continually attacked. Yet God reminds us that those are the very people He defends. When God fights your battles, no one and nothing can defeat Him.

I am reminded of a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a respected teacher of the law. When the apostles were being persecuted for preaching in the name of Jesus, Gamaliel warned the assembly, “Men of Israel, be careful what you are about to do to these men. If their activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop them. You may even find yourselves fighting against God!” (Acts 5:35–39 paraphrased).

Scripture tells us: “The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed” (Psalm 103:6), and “The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble” (Psalm 9:9). When we know God’s Word, we have no reason to fear. God has intentionally positioned the oppressed in such a way that only He can defend them—so that He may show Himself strong on their behalf. Hallelujah!

So, when you read distressing news or feel hopelessness creeping into your spirit, declare this aloud:

“Lord, I thank You! You are positioning me for a blessing! You are fighting my battles!”

Key Takeaways:

  • The Lord has positioned you for victory.

  • Stand assured that what God has written about you cannot be overturned.

  • Declare that fear has no hold on you!
