Able
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.
— Ephesians 3:20 (ESV)
I pray that when you wake, you take a moment to listen for the still, small voice of God. There’s often a lot of noise in our minds as soon as we open our eyes—usually a flood of thoughts about everything we have to get done. But if you listen closely, you can hear God speaking.
One early morning, God brought the song "Able" to me. I woke up with the chorus echoing faintly in the back of my mind. At first, I didn’t know the name of the song, but I sat quietly, listening. Slowly, the melody became clearer, and then a few words surfaced. I knew in that moment—God was speaking. When I finally recognized the song, I looked up the lyrics, and they deeply blessed me. They brought comfort and peace to my soul.
At the time, we had been dealing with a lot. God used that song to gently remind me of who He is—and to help me embrace the fullness of His peace.
God desires peace for us. As Romans 14:17 says:
“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
He is always trying to get to us what we need; we simply have to make space to hear His still, small, quiet voice—and receive the gift He’s offering.
Below are the lyrics to the song Able. I pray they bless you as they blessed me.
Able
(Selected lyrics)
You're more than able
Ain’t no problem that’s too hard
For a strong and mighty God
Yes, You are able
You're more than able
Time and time again You prove
I can always count on You
You are faithful—more than faithful
A seed of love that never stops
It will finish what it starts
And when I don’t understand
I still leave it in Your hands
I am thankful—so very thankful
For Your never-ending grace
And Your brand-new mercies every day
I'm in awe of what You’ve done
So many victories You’ve won
You're more than able
Ain’t no problem too hard
Time and time again You prove
I can always count on You
